For me, it's a joy!
I'm talking about my volunteer time in seven classrooms on Mondays and Tuesdays. However, this week is Grandparents Week plus our Book Fair and I'm volunteering in the library for four days this week. Equally enjoyable.
At this school, each teacher puts books in her named basket for Grandparents or others who might want to purchase one or more books for the teacher’s classroom. I have four kindergarten classes and three second grade classes this year.
Each year as gifts to "my" teachers plus my grandsons two teachers I've been buying the unpurchased books for the teachers after their respective Grandparents Day has passed. I think of them as an investment in the growth and development of the students AND it helps a teacher. Plus, it's books so it's an easy decision for me. Lol
This year I received a hand drawn Thank You note from each student in two of my Kindergarten classes. I was so happy and had tears of joy for their thoughtfulness plus the example set by the teachers for them in the “good manners department” which is becoming a lost art. Pictures were drawn of their family, flowers, the classroom, books, etc. on or in the cards. Beyond sweet!
They will live in the memories box in my living room along with those previously received. Happy Day!!!
I'm thankful and feel blessed to be in
these classrooms plus feel all warm and fuzzy inside every Monday and Tuesday.
Blessings come in all forms.
